I have never read Fleming´s books, but I tend to think that your point of view is influenced by original books and your ideal image of Bond is static. In my opinion, Dalton was the worse Bond far fetched. He was a nasty guy, the most awful actor. I am dubious about the latter Bond. He is the bold Bond, but probably so rude. The best was Connery and he was the only that was worth the money. I suffered from Brosman's interpretation, he was like a wise guy unnerving my mind. Every one were differents but each did the role following their styles.
